Our Repair Mission Statement Simply Stated: "Good Enough Just Isn't!"

The following prices are a sampling of approximate charges for the “Factory Scheduled Service” of properly worn and maintained contemporary timepieces. The "Factory Scheduled Service" incorporates the total dissembling and cleaning of all internal parts, application of factory approved special lubricants, replacing all necessary case-back gaskets and sealants, as well as pressure testing all applicable models. (Despite the fact that we are not an authorized Rolex® repair facility, rest assured, that all parts used in the restoration of your Rolex® timepiece are factory authorized replacement parts.)

Unfortunately, most people wait well past the factory recommended time suggested between periodic cleaning. Postponing this service causes excess wear on the internal parts ultimately leading to higher repair bills. Additionally, older watches oftentime present costly part-sourcing problems that could have easily been eliminated with proper maintenance.

Capetown has always taken a conservative approach in regard to replacing parts. Our concern is to keep your costs affordable and keep your watch running until the next scheduled service. However, certain parts, which are subject to exterior wear and tear, may require changing when, and if, they compromise the integrity of your watch.

The crystal, bezel, tube and crown are integral to pressure proof models. They are the main barriers against water or moisture damage and, as such, should be replaced periodically. Beside minimizing the chance of water damage they also provide a seal which prevents the lubricants from drying out. The reasonable extra charge incurred for the occassional replacement of these parts is a small price to pay for the protection they provide to your valuable investment.

We will not take your money if we cannot deliver your watch back to you in a sparkling fresh showroom-perfect condition. Our technicians simply won’t work on a watch where the end price will not justify the value of the timepiece - nor will they do shortcut, quick fix type repairs. If it cannot be done right, it will not be done.
