Old Fashioned Values

As previously mentioned, the writer is a soldier of fortune former slum-dweller. In my neighborhood, the phrase "old fashioned values" had not yet been coined. New York in the 30's was dog eat dog. The paradox was that only the Mafia looked down on being a sneak, liar, and tattletale. As I mentioned before, I lived in a neighborhood where it took an hour to pass the scene of a crime, and consequently my father was too busy earning a living to feed his seven children, than to take the time to explain old fashioned.

Some of the most wonderful people that I have met in this world are kind, considerate, and scrupulously honest. They are well-liked, and earn a wonderful living. My wife is a very moral woman, with her and my friends help, I have come to realize that treating our fellow human beings properly really does pay off. I have become a good person, because these days, it is a very novel approach to the way business is conducted on this planet. My advice to any young man growing up today is: Always give a little more than you get, and don't always look for "the edge." Be good to your workers and your clients. Treat them like family.

The lack of ethics, morals, and decency may make you believe that they no longer exist in this world. Actually, it is the glue that binds the fabric of a great society together.

If there is anyone out there in cyberspace who has taken the time to read all of this, and would like to comment on it, you would be welcome to do so. If you become a client of mine, you will be treated like a true friend. We may even post some of your comments on the web! If they are really good, I may take credit for them!! Just kidding.
